Jay is a KU alum and received is MA in Jewish Communal Service from the Hornstein Program at Brandeis University. Prior to returning to KU, he was the Assistant Director of the Bureau of Jewish Education in Orange County, CA. Locally, Jay has been recognized as KU’s Advisor of the Year and nationally has received Hillel’s prestigious Richard M. Joel Exemplar of Excellence Award. He is passionate about basketball, golf, and the Jayhawks. He lives in Overland Park with his wife and two kids.

Originally from Chicago, Carly completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing in May 2009. After graduating, Carly moved back to Chicago to work for a year in the city as the Communications Coordinator for the Communications and Design team at Laurus Strategies. In June of 2010, Carly moved to Kansas City where she took the position of Program Director at KU Hillel. After three years as Program Director, Carly was promoted to Director of Development in 2013 and Assistant Director in 2014. Carly lives in Overland Park with her husband and puppy Madison.

Neal is a native of Seattle, who, after living in Los Angeles and Jerusalem was surprised to discover how much he and his family love living in Kansas. He moved here in 2003 to serve as one of the rabbis at Congregation B’nai Jehudah in Overland Park, and, in 2009, he joined the KU Hillel team as its Senior Jewish Educator, a position in which he gets to engage students in their exploration of life, Judaism and the meaning of it all. As he often tells people, “This is the kind of work I became a rabbi to do.” Neal lives in Overland Park with his wife, three kids and dog Oscar.

Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Melissa graduated from the University of Kansas in May 2011 with a bachelors degree in visual communications and a minor in dance. Upon graduation, Melissa worked as a consultant for Sigma Delta Tau (SDT) National Sorority. After a year of traveling, Melissa returned to Lawrence, Kansas and took the position as a graphic designer for The Original Retro Brand before joining the KU Hillel staff in July 2013 as the Program Director. Melissa and her husband moved from Lawrence to Overland Park in June 2014.

Susan is a KU alum and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. For the past thirty plus years, Susan has lived in Kansas and joined KU Hillel as the Operations Manager in December 2011. She handles all accounting and facility tasks. Susan enjoys reading and playing golf and is constantly trying to keep up with her 3 active girls.
