How many Jewish students are there at KU?
We estimate that there are nearly 2,000 Jewish students enrolled at the University of Kansas.
What does Hillel provide for students on holidays?
KU Hillel holds Rosh Hashanah services, Hanukkah parties, a Passover Seder and much more! Hillel also partners with the Lawrence Jewish Community Center for High Holiday services. For more information about holiday programming, please contact

What does Hillel do for Shabbat?
KU Hillel holds Shabbat activities including Happy Hour Shabbats where students can come socialize and enjoy food from around Lawrence. We also hold Shabbat dinners throughout the semester and encourage students to get together and hosts Shabbat in their own homes.
What is Taglit-Birthright Israel?
KU Hillel offers a FREE trip to Israel every winter break. Taglit-Birthright believes it is every Jews birthright to be able to travel to Israel. You must be between the ages of 18-26 and have never been to Israel on a peer-group trip. Ku Hillel take roughly 40 students each year. To find out more information please

Does KU provide a study abroad program in Israel?
Unfortunately at this time, KU does not provide a study abroad program in Israel but Hillel has helped many students over the years find other programs to go through. We have an intern dedicated to helping students study abroad in Israel successfully. If you have any questions about studying abroad in Israel, please contact Malinda.
Does KU or Hillel have a Kosher Food Plan?
KU does not currently offer a Kosher meal plan on campus. All food served at Hillel events is Kosher-style.
How do you communicate
with Jewish students on campus?
KU Hillel sends out a weekly e-mail newsletter highlighting upcoming
Hillel events. To get added to the list, please select the link to
receive our newsletter on our homepage. KU Hillel also distributes
fliers around campus, tables on Wescoe Beach, puts ads in the University
Daily Kansan and will create bus ads for all of our major events.
