Internships
There are many ways to get involved at Hillel. Specifically, we have 30+ interns throughout the year who focus on a range of areas including, but not limited to communications, development, engagement, Israel education, marketing, etc. All interns are required to host at least one Shabbat a semester. Accounting Intern
- Responsible for all payables
- Reports directly to the Operations Manager
Administrative Intern
- Responsible for keeping KU Hillel’s internal database up-to-date
- Reports directly to the Program Director
Campus Engagement Intern
- Responsible for connecting and engaging students to Jewish life and learning
- Charged with the task of having and creating Jewish conversations
- Reports directly to the Assistant Director for Student Life
Communications/Social Media Intern
- Responsible for all distribution of marketing materials to students
- In charge of "The Weekly Jewhawk" e-blasts and social media
- Reports directly to the Program Director
Communications/Fundraising Intern
- Responsible for all distribution of marketing materials to parents, alumni and donors
- In charge of the "Shabbat Shalom" e-blasts and donor relations
- Reports directly to the Program Director
Event Planning Intern
- Responsible for all of KU Hillel’s large events
- Works directly with the venues and all other aspects of the event
- Reports directly to the Program Director
Freshman Engagement Intern
- Focuses on reaching
out to freshmen and involving them in Jewish life on Campus
- In charge of creating specific freshmen programs & being involved
in reaching out to students in their dorms
- Reports directly to the Assistant Director for Jewish Student Life - first semester only
Graphic Design Intern
- Responsible for creating all marketing materials for programs and events including fliers, newspaper ads, bus ads, etc.
- Reports directly to the Program Director
Greek Engagement Intern
- Responsible for connecting and engaging students to Jewish life and learning though MEGA events, Shabbat, etc
- Focuses on engaging and connecting Jewish students from all Greek houses and creating opportunities for them to come together
- Reports directly to the Assistant Director for Jewish Student Life
Israel Advocacy Intern - Responsible for networking with other campus organizations
- Serves as a campus Israel resource
- Reports directly to the Assistant Director for Jewish Student Life
Shabbat Intern
- In charge of creating all Friday night Shabbats and Saturday Shabbat Brunches
- Responsible for partaking in an ongoing Shabbat Learning and Discussion
- Reports directly to the Program Director
Shabbat Around KU (SAKU) Intern
- Responsible for engaging and connecting new students to Shabbat dinners in your home and partaking in an ongoing Shabbat Learning and Discussion
- In charge of hosting 4 Shabbat dinners per semester
- Reports directly to the Assistant Director for Jewish Student Life
Summer Engagement Intern
- Focuses on reaching out and being a part of incoming student outreach by participating in orientation and reaching out to areas where students are coming to KU from
- Reports directly to the Assistant Director for Jewish Student Life
